Class ContentOne thing that thecanineclub know very well is that dogs don't transfer their behaviours to new environments. That is why quite often when you take your dog somewhere outside of the home it can be difficult to get your dog to focus. In order to gain focus you need to train your dog in different environments and that is exactly what we show you how to do in this class which has different public locations for each week.
We teach you ways to establish and maintain your dogs focus in public environments, show you several successful off lead recalls, teach your dog how to stay safe around roads and work on loose leash walking. We also show you how to have your dog walking to heel off leash. We do a lot of work on teaching our dogs to approach other dogs and people calmly. We work on polite "dog greetings" and for our reactive dogs out there we show you how to manage their behaviours stress free. Sometimes when we are out in the open we can find ourselves confronted with hairy situations and we need to think fast and have replacement behaviours on tap to keep our dogs calm and under control. We demonstrate how to apply alternative behaviours to a variance of natural circumstances, and in doing so we show our dog’s that no matter what else is going on around them they can show interest but stay calm & under control. |
An introduction to clicker training, this class is perfect for creating calm, relaxed and focused dogs outside the home.
