Canine Coaching
Canine Coaching with Teddy
How does it work?
First we speak with you about what you would like to work on with your dog, we can train your dog on all sorts of things a few examples are Road safety, Off lead recall, Walking to heel etc. However there are some behaviours that sit better with an in home behaviour consultation rather than Canine Coaching.
Once we establish what you would like us to include in the training programme, we will come and work with your dog, initially for a half hour session. After the first session we get to know your dog pretty well and can discuss with you about future training sessions.
As dogs don’t automatically transfer behaviours from one person to the other or even between one environment to the next we require a “Transfer Session”. We ask you to join us on a training session to ensure that the behaviours we train your dog to do, transfer over to you and your family as well.
We pick your dog up and take him to different environments to work with him, the environments vary from your home to parks/beaches or out in public busy areas. The training programmes we follow all include techniques we have used to successfully train assistance dogs.
If you have been through our classes before you will know that we are positive reinforcement trainers and we are big advocates of clicker training, to achieve your training goals we often use clicker training to start with and then we phase it out once your dog has learnt what he has needed to!
Each session is followed up with comprehensive notes via email.
Costs & Availability
It is important to book in advance for these sessions, for new bookings we have on average a two week wait. Bookings Monday - Friday at a cost of $180 per hour.
