Animal enthusiasts, and co-owners of thecanineclub, Tania and Sam, have been working together for a long time, and have trained dogs (and people!) all over Auckland.
In the beginning, after our super clever puppies graduated, we would send them on their way to other training professionals.
It left us absolutely devastated to hear some of our clever puppy graduates then went on to be exposed to antiquated training methods out there in the industry. Through lots of client encouragement, and our motivation to offer positive, calm, hands off training to misunderstood dogs, and well meaning people, we haven't looked back since! That was about 15 years ago.
Fast forward to now, we continue to be incredibly proud of the services we offer. Our focus is on helping owners to create calm, relaxed dogs. We offer training through Behaviour Consultations or various Training Classes. Our training style is different, but we are confident you will find it refreshing. Based around creating clever dogs, we teach you how to avoid micro managing your dogs behaviour. We keep "command based training" to a minimum (commands are necessary sometimes), and prefer to use passive training techniques, leading to great results.
Outside of dog training both of us know what it is like to lead busy lives. This means all of our training plans are designed to be achievable in the busiest households.
Tania is a dedicated mum to 2 teenagers, Charlotte and Harrison, and has a Golden retriever called Simba. Tania is also working with Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy at NSVECC and is working towards a degree in Paramedicine.
Sam lives on the Hibiscus Coast, and has a dog called Toby. Sam also works as a Programme Manager in the corporate world.
We love working with dogs, and their owners, and are absolute advocates for dogs. We both feel incredibly privileged to be doing what we are passionate about.

Tania gets a full picture of all aspects of the dogs life, behaviour and your concerns, and then works within the family dynamics to achieve success using positive reinforcement.
